Gems Sensors offers a broad range of flow sensors designed for continuous monitoring and flow/no-flow detection in liquids and gases. Featuring Hall Effect technology, RotorFlow® and Turbine sensors provide visual indication, analog or pulsed outputs, and high accuracy across a wide range of flow rates — from 0.1 to 60 GPM and beyond.
Gems Sensors flow products use two core sensing technologies — RotorFlow® paddle wheel sensors for larger flow ranges with visual indication, and Turbine sensors for compact, precise low-flow OEM applications. The XFT offers non-invasive clamp-on ultrasonic measurement.
As liquid passes through the RotorFlow® body, the magnetic rotor spins at a rate proportional to flow, exciting the Hall Effect sensor and producing voltage pulses. The high-visibility rotor provides clear visual confirmation of flow at all times. Available with pulsed, analog or switched outputs to suit any control system.
Hall Effect turbine sensors are ideal for precise low-flow liquid monitoring in OEM applications. The turbine reacts quickly and is not influenced by changes in system pressure. The XFT uses non-invasive clamp-on ultrasonic technology — no pipe cutting or process shutdown required.
Gems Sensors flow products cover RotorFlow® paddle wheel sensors, turbine flow sensors and non-invasive clamp-on ultrasonic meters — all utilising Hall Effect technology for reliable, accurate flow measurement.
Combines high-visibility rotors with solid-state Hall Effect electronics in a compact panel-mounting housing. Output pulses at the same voltage as the input (4.5–24 VDC) with frequency proportional to flow. Ideal for water purification, dispensing systems and cooling loops. Potable water (RFO-PW) version available.
Simple, direct and reliable visual flow indicator — no electronics required. Flow rate is estimated or confirmed by viewing the speed of the turning high-visibility rotor. Either port may be used for incoming flow and the bayonet-mount lens is easily removed for maintenance or cleaning. Ideal where a low-cost, no-power flow check is needed.
Combines high-visibility rotors with solid-state electronics for accurate flow rate output via a 0–10 VDC analog signal with integral visual confirmation. The RFA conditions the pulsed Hall Effect output to a smooth analog voltage proportional to flow rate — ideal for PLC and data acquisition systems requiring continuous flow rate monitoring.
Combines visual confirmation of flow with dynamic 1-amp electronic switch operation. The RFS triggers a switched output when flow drops below or exceeds a set threshold — ideal for semiconductor processing, lasers, medical equipment, X-ray machines and cooling systems requiring flow/no-flow protection.
The XFT is a non-invasive clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter — no pipe cutting, no process shutdown and no risk of contamination. Simply clamp onto the outside of the pipe. Features a full-colour rotatable LCD display, MODBUS® RTU communication and analog outputs. Suitable for pipe sizes 3/8" to 1.5" (16 to 52 mm OD). Compatible with stainless steel, PVC and PPR pipe materials. Ideal for chiller systems, data centre cooling, water/wastewater and semiconductor applications.
Hall Effect turbine flow sensor ideal for OEM applications involving low-flow liquid monitoring. Mounts in any orientation and is not influenced by changes in system pressure caused by ageing filters — unlike timing-based systems. Low cost with ½% repeatability makes it an ideal replacement for dispensing timer systems. Available in Nylon 12 (up to 200 psig) and brass body (up to 350 psig) versions. Each sensor is 100% tested for years of reliable service.
Proven turbine technology in an ultra-compact package for very low-flow applications. The lightweight turbine reacts quickly to on/off dispensing applications — highly repeatable and ideal for volume dispensing and flow rate measurement. Nylon 12 body compatible with water, coolants and many chemicals. NPN sinking open collector output. Each unit 100% tested for reliable long-term service.
